WHICH COLOUR TENNIS BALL?

Updated: Nov 14

Calling all tennis players, parents and coaches!

Let's talk about the colourful world of tennis balls and how they can help your game or coaching. Here's why you should consider incorporating different coloured tennis balls into your training sessions:

  • Foam/ Red Balls: Introduce your mini players (2-8 year olds) to the joy of tennis with foam or red balls! These low-compression balls are larger and 75% slower, allowing young players to develop proper technique while having fun on the court.

  • Orange Balls: Bridging the gap between red and green balls, orange balls are perfect for intermediate junior players (8-10 year olds) . With a slightly faster pace and increased bounce, they provide a stepping stone towards playing with standard yellow balls. Also a great ball to use in Cardio Tennis sessions for all standards of players!

  • Green Dot Balls: Perfect for transitioning players 10-12 year olds), green dot balls are slightly softer and 25% slower than yellow balls, making them easier to control and rally with. Great for building confidence and refining technique.

  • Yellow Balls: The recognised choice for teenagers and adult players. Ideal for beginners, intermediate to advanced players, yellow balls offer consistent bounce and visibility on all court surfaces.

So, whether you're a coach, parent, or player, incorporating different colour tennis balls into your tennis sessions can enhance skill development, promote confidence, and add an element of fun to the game!
