CHOOSING THE RIGHT RACKET

Picking the right tennis racket is so important for every youngsters tennis journey.

So here is my simple guide:

  • Tots Rackets (Ages 2-5): For the youngest players, choose mini rackets (17-19 inches). They’re light and easy to handle, perfect for learning the basic skills.

  • Children’s Rackets (Ages 6-10): Junior rackets (21-25 inches) are ideal for young players starting to play more seriously. These provide better control and power.

  • Pre-Teen Rackets (Ages 11+): As children grow, transition rackets (26-27 inches) help them move to adult-sized rackets. These offer more power and control.

  • Light Materials: Look for rackets made from lightweight materials like aluminum or graphite. They’re easier for kids to handle and reduce arm strain.

  • Fun Designs: Choose rackets with cool colours and designs to appeal for both boys and girls.

  • Ask the Coach: Always check with your child’s coach for advice on the best racket for their age and skill level.

By picking the right racket, you’re helping your child enjoy and succeed in tennis!
